Relación entre la tipología familiar y la comunicación en el autoconcepto de adolescentes de 15 a 17 años

Los integrantes de la familia interactúan y se relacionan entre sí y con la sociedad en general, siendo significativo el tipo de comunicación que se ejerce dentro y el autoconcepto de sus integrantes. Este estudio exploró la relación entre la tipología familiar y la comunicación en el autoconcepto de 50 adolescentes de bachillerato de 15 a 17 años, de la ciudad de Loja-Ecuador. Para ello, se utilizaron la escala de comunicación Padres-Adolescentes (PACS) de Barnes y Olson y el cuestionario de Autoconcepto Forma 5 (AF-5) de García y Musitu. Los resultados revelaron correlaciones positivas y significativas entre la comunicación de grado de franqueza y el autoconcepto familiar, autoconcepto físico y autoconcepto social en las familias nucleares. Además, de una correlación significativa e inversa entre la magnitud de problemas de la comunicación y el autoconcepto familiar. En las familias monoparentales se evidenciaron correlaciones significativas entre el grado de franqueza de la comunicación y el autoconcepto familiar y el autoconcepto académico-laboral. Asimismo, se observó una correlación negativa entre la magnitud de problemas de la comunicación y el autoconcepto familiar. Las familias extensas presentaron correlaciones positivas entre la comunicación franca y el autoconcepto, aunque no significativas. Se concluye que el tipo de familia se relaciona con la comunicación, debido a que si es abierta y franca se asocia positivamente con el autoconcepto saludable de los adolescentes lo que respalda la importancia de considerar estos factores en el estudio de personas perteneciente a este grupo etario.
